I approach teaching dance as a reciprocal process amongst all the participants in a class. I continue to study as I teach and consider diverse embodied knowledge as a valuable part of movement practices. Through collaborative, student-centered and body-centered pedagogy, I teach dance as a shared experience amongst our differences. I am interested in exploring and contributing a global lens to dance-making and dance education. I value collaborative learning with the students and encourage participants to bring their contextual and embodied knowledge to the class.
I am interested in the capacity of dance to not only learn about diverse dance cultures but to also build empathy and solidarity amongst the differences.
